Fellows

Fellowship is awarded by the Council of the Institute to individuals who have made an outstanding contribution in the field of economic development or to the Institute itself. Full Members of the IED may apply to the Council to be upgraded. Fellows may use the designation FIED. For an application form, please click here.

Full Members

To apply as a Full Member, you must be qualified to post graduate level and/or have a minimum of three years’ relevant experience of an economic development discipline. As a Full Member you may use the designation MIED. If you are from the private sector you will be entitled to an entry in our Consultants Directory and asked to abide by our Code of Conduct.

Associate Members

Any individual working in economic development is entitled to apply for Associate membership and use the designation AIED. You can upgrade to Full Member after three years with a suitable CPD record or immediately on achieving a relevant post graduate qualification. You will enjoy the same benefits as a Full Member. If you are from the private sector you will be entitled to an entry in our Consultants Directory and asked to abide by our Code of Conduct.

Corporate membership

This level of membership is for organisations with more than five suitably qualified individuals and benefits can be tailored according to the needs of the organisation.

Campus IED

Designed for those individuals studying a relevant discipline to qualification level but not yet in employment.  This level provides FREE membership for the duration of their studies and on graduating students will be eligible for Associate Membership at the prevailing fees.
