The Institute of Economic Development is commonly referred to as the IED. The company is limited by guarantee and registered in England & Wales No. 1748926 with the registered office: 4 Parliament Close, Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire HP16 8DT.
Communications should be made to our operations centre: PO Box 796, Northampton NN4 9TS, telephone 01604 874 613 or by email to info@ied.co.uk
The IED is primarily a membership organisation for professional people working in Economic Development and the majority of our transactions will be individual subscriptions, however there are other products and services available and the following applies to all transactions.
1. Enrolling On-Line
You can apply for membership on-line and choose whether to pay immediately on-line or request an invoice. Completion of an on-line application will populate the IED database and automatically notify the operations centre that the application has been made. Once accepted into Membership your name, job title and employer along with business telephone and email address will be available to all IED members through a search in the password protected Member area of the IED website, www.ied.co.uk
2. Payment
Payment for subscriptions and other services can be taken on Credit and Debit Cards. We accept Visa, Maestro and MasterCard and for subscriptions these payments can be made on-line. The IED uses the ePDQ payment transaction service provided by Barclaycard and your payment is taken in a secure environment protected by ePDQ security.
Payments for all other products and services including subscriptions can be made by Credit or Debit by phoning the IED operations centre on 01604 874 613.
Alternatively, payments can be made by cheque made payable to the IED or by bank transfer (quoting the invoice number) to The Royal Bank of Scotland, Manchester Mosley Street branch. Sort Code 16-00-01, Account No. 13039671.
3. VAT
As a membership association the IED is not registered for VAT and VAT is not applied to any of our charges.
4. Delivery & Communications Policy
The IED operates an e-communications policy and uses emails and its website wherever possible. Items such as Certificates of Membership, the IED paper based Journal and any items requested by Members in hard copy will be despatched via Royal Mail using 2nd class post.
5. Cancellation Policy
Membership is renewable annually and once you have paid a subscription you are automatically a Member for 12 full months from the date of payment. You may resign at any time but subscriptions are non-refundable and will not be reimbursed in part or in full.
Orders for other services such as advertising in our publications will be subject to separate terns & conditions and in all cases will require you to contact our operations centre with a notification of cancelation.
6. Refund Policy
As a provider of services rather than goods it is unlikely that there will ever be a situation where you have faulty goods to return. However, where any error, whether by the user or the IED, causes an overpayment to take place, an immediate refund will be made by the same method as the original payment. Any order which has been placed and subsequently invoiced will be credited on receipt of the notification of cancellation subject to the separate terms & conditions for that product or service.
